Jamie & Alexandra - Collits Inn, Hartley Vale NSW

Jamie & Alexandra. What an emotional ride their whole wedding day was! Their day was filled with so much love and was a true celebration of the joining of their two families down at the beautiful Collits Inn. Their May wedding was chilly, and we even saw a few flakes of snow on our way down to the venue, however that wasn’t going to stop any kind of celebration down at Collits Inn as they’re so beautifully equipped for the cold weather. The indoor fireplaces, outdoor fire pits, and copious amounts of glorious food by Chef Chris, kept everyone so warm and well looked after.

Jamie & Alexandra’s families had only been recently introduced, despite the gorgeous couple being together for seven years already. The two families really united throughout the day to celebrate the love that these two have for each other. It stared during the ceremony with the hand binding performed by each parent in turn, and carried right on through until the last moment of the night on the dance floor. The love for their children was so evident throughout the speeches, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the barn when each spoke so beautifully.

The barn nearly exploded from emotion when Jamie took the microphone. He surprised his beautiful bride (and her family) with his whole speech in perfectly pronounced and fluent Russian, a surprise that he had worked tirelessly for over a six month period with the aid of Alexandras gorgeous sister. This was closely followed by an enthralling accordion piece (a cultural wedding tradition) by the brides father Alex, which had a similar affect.

As wedding photographers & videographers we are privileged to be allowed into such sacred spaces both physically and emotionally. We never take for granted that we get to witness and capture such beautiful moments that will stay with these couples and their families for a lifetime, and become a part of their new life story and shared history.

Some weddings draw us in so beautifully with their personalised touches, so much so that we feel like friends of the family after only meeting a few hours prior. This was definitely a celebration to remember, and we thank all of you who book with us for allowing us in to your intimate moments to preserve them for you.

Family Mini Session with Bek & Nate

Did you know we shoot family sessions too..? We were so excited to book Bek & Nate in for a family mini-session for a Mothers Day promo that we held in 2021. We happened to have a spare afternoon in the middle of ‘Wedding Season’ and after a few gorgeous families make enquiries for some family shoots in a Blue Mountains location, we decided to throw them all together in the one afternoon!

Bek is an absolute whiz in the kitchen and frequents the benches of The Grove in Portland NSW. If you’re ever headed out west you NEED to swing by and pick up some of her caramel slice and a fabulous coffee! Thanks for trusting us to capture little Nate for you Bek!

Caitie & Kerry’s Blue Mountains Engagement Shoot

Caitie & Kerry’s Pre-Weding Shoot in the Blue Mountains National Park

We first met Caitie & Kerry when Caitie was in the bridal party for one of our gorgeous videography clients… When it came to booking their own wedding vendors they asked for recommendations from their friends and family, and we luckily made the list!

These Blue Mountains Locals booked a destination wedding in Mudgee NSW at one of our favourite venues, The Pavilion at Lowe. We’d pleaded the case for a pre-wedding session, and these legends agreed to carve out a few hours the week before the wedding for us. We find that a pre-wedding session is as much about feeling comfortable in front of the camera as it is about getting to know us, as well as taking time just the two of you to hang out, and in this case enjoy a glass of champers on the clifftop at sunset. We suggested a few locations and the two that were picked the gorgeous Caitie & Kerry had never ventured to, so it was an unexpected little adventure in their own Blue Mountains backyard.

Chloe & Nathaniel at The Pavilion at Lowe - Mudgee Wedding

Chloe & Nathaniels Mudgee Wedding at The Pavilion at Lowe

The perfect Summer Mudgee wedding doesn’t exi….

The Pavilion at Lowe // The Zin House Wedding with Chloe & Nathaniel was something really special. These gorgeous two have a special place in their hearts for the venue, with both working there at the time. There was such an emphasis on family, friends, great atmosphere, and of course Incredible food and it’s plain to see that all of the dreams for the day were easily brought to fruition at Lowe Wines.

Chloe & Nat chose to have their ceremony take place in the Orchard, the relaxed reception dinner inside the outdoor chapel, and the after party in the grounds of The Zin House. They managed to utilise all of the beautiful parts of the venue to great advantage and that suited their day so perfectly. The sprawling moveable party seemed to follow the sun set around too which led to a pretty epic dance floor!

These two carved out some time at sunset for some photos down by the Jetty whilst their guests got the party started for them, and we’re ever so thankful for couples who trust us when we say it’ll be worth it, those images are definitely some of our favourites from the day!

Chloe & Nathaniel had such an incredibly beautiful and heartfelt day and we were so damn thankful to be a part of it!

Ashdown & Bee Styling Job at State Mine Museum - Moody + Industrial

Here’s a little Inso for all you couples out there who are after something a little bit alternative, and are looking for different ways that you can make your personalities shine through in your wedding styling…

We were NOT the official photographers booked by the couple, we were in fact just down at the gorgeous venue to take some styling images for the amazingly talented Ashdown & Bee, who were in charge of all things styling, and The Sisters who were in charge of all things floral. These two collaborated just beautifully and it was such a delight to see this wedding come together before the guests and couple arrived!

If you’re looking for the official photographer for the day, look no further than good friend Blue Mtns local Benjamin Urquhart from Kings & Thieves. Ben has an absolutely bonkers gallery for the couple from the day which is definitely worth checking out!

Alannah & Angus -The Secret Circle, Bellview Estate

Angus & Alannah had the most spectacular wedding day at Bellview Estate’s Secret Circle (formerly know as Bilpin Resort). The day was a steaming hot 38 degrees, and we were all so thankful for the outdoor vision that Alannah & Angus brought to life in the Matakata Tipi’s! They looked absolutely incredible sitting atop the hill at the Bilpin venue and were the perfect Covid-Safe alternative to expand the reception venue area to allow for all of their guests!

Alannah & Angus are a gorgeous couple who were filled with absolute unbridled joy throughout the entire day and they had the most beautiful group of friends and family supporting and celebrating them all day and evening. Restrictions that were in place allowed for only the Bridal party to partake in dancing, however they partied hard and certainly made up for the other hundred or so guests who were limited to their seats for the reception!

We absolutely love a beautiful Bilpin Bellview Estate Wedding, and this was certainly one to remember! Congrats again to the beautiful Alannah & Angus!

Carla & Rob’s Wintery Micro-Wedding at Hillandale Gardens

Carla & Rob’s Snowy Micro-Wedding at Hillandale Gardens

Carla & Rob contacted us a few weeks out from their wedding date asking us to pop out for an hour or two and shoot their micro-wedding at the absolutely B E A U T I F U L Hillandale Gardens, located in Yetholme in the NSW Central West. They had of course planned on a few more attendees, however due to some slight restrictions they ended up with a few less than expected and so wanted the ceremony captured in full for those missing out, and a few photos captured.

The week of the wedding we were all on ‘snow watch’, which isn’t that unusual for Spring in the mtns and Central West! Luckily the beautiful venue has a few options for indoor ceremonies, as the snow fell all day long and the wind was certainly chilly! We headed out there a few hours early in case the highway closed and took the opportunity to take the drone out for a spin in between bouts of snowfall. We absolutely love a gorgeous winter wedding and snow is always an added bonus. Congratulations Carla & Rob!

Here’s a few images from their gallery from their day… x

Ashley & Michael - Inner City Pre-Wedding Shoot

Inner-City Pre-Wedding shoot for Ashley & Michael

We love it when couples choose to shoot their pre-wedding shoot somewhere with significance and meaning to them as a couple, and Ashley & Michael certainly chose well! The gorgeous couple had their first date at Carriageworks in Sydney, viewing a music video exhibition and so chose to capture some images in this area on the date of their engagement anniversary! We really wanted to use the local area around Carriageworks as well as the beautiful Paddington Reservoir for their pre-wedding shoot, so we organised to catch up around 6.30am and get some portraits captured in the early morning light.

The lovely El Nina had some other plans in store, and we ended up shooting for approximately 3 minutes before heading off for a quick coffee to get out of the rain, which Ashley & Michael just took all in their stride and we ended up having an absolute blast hanging out together for a couple of hours. The couple had had plans for an engagement party for the afternoon, but with the C-word still raging through Sydney, and elderly family members being in attendance, they chose to forgo the big plans to celebrate and instead marked the occasion with the shoot followed by their favourite take-away and a good film.

The couple are due to wed at the Beautiful Bendooley Book Barn this coming Winter, and we cannot wait! It’ll be our first time shooting at the gorgeous Southern Highlands venue after having it on our wedding ‘wishlist’ of venues to shoot at, so we are so pumped!

These two are just such a gorgeous couple. They have so much fun together and are so sweet and full of love and joy (as you’ll see in the images), as well as just genuinely lovely humans with a soft sweet side to their dynamic too. We are so looking forward to seeing and celebrating with them on their wedding day and meeting their friends and family and capturing another special moment in time for them!

Simone & Amanda’s Blue Mountains Hideaway Wedding

The day these two gorgeous souls became wife and wife was so damn special, and we couldn’t have been more excited to be asked to help capture it.

As the incredibly heartfelt ceremony concluded (go ahead and book Rachel Besser stat. what a job she did!), the beautiful mountains mist rolled in and we snuck the couple away to a hidden fire-trail for some intimate couple shots.

As the mist grew thicker, the couple and guests retreated to the marquee, and kept their spirits warm with the help of St Germain G&T’s served up by gorgeous Bobby Franklin Caravan Bar and the wonderful fire pit on site at Westhill.

As vegan entrepreneurs themselves, Simone & Amanda wanted there to be copious amounts of beautiful vegan delights on hand for their guests, which were beautifully served up by the extraordinary Tenille Evans and her team at Vegan Weddings and Events, while the gorgeous cake was a vegan creation by Rebecca at Greenberg and co. cakes.

Ben over at Kings and Thieves worked his incredible magic for the ceremony behind the lens for the beautiful Simone and Amanda, before we took over the helm capturing the events that preceded, as well as documenting their full day on film for them to share with guests unable to attend.. both you’ll find below, and you can head over to Bens account to check out his captures!

Tom & Merryn - The Foundations, Portland NSW

Tom & Merryn get hitched at The Foundations, Portland in a stunning love filled day surrounded by family and friends… before Covid was a thing and dance floors were limited!

Tom and Merryn are Portland locals, and chose to celebrate their day at the incredible The Foundations, in Portland NSW.

Portland (approx 2.5 hours from Sydney) is a town steeped in history, and The Foundations has played a major role in this, dating back to when the site was known as Portland Cement Works which opened in 1902. The amazing industrial site now holds an array of cultural events and weddings in their many spaces available for hire. Merryn & Tom chose ‘The Powerhouse’ to hold their wedding reception for their nearly 200 guests, with 3 King tables easily being accommodated into the space, along with a dance floor area or two, a bar, and a live band. It’s an amazing space with a huge range of layout options to suit your event. We also loved getting amongst the Silos with their beautiful murals by artist Guido van Helton, and the surrounding area made even more special due to the groom’s involvement in restoring the site, along with the gorgeous landscaping and stunning bespoke tables located inside the grounds.

Merryn & Tom had lots of help in bringing their day to fruition from both family and friends, along with some vendors chosen specifically to add to the relaxed party vibe they were aiming for. Their day was absolutely amazing and right on point with everything they were hoping to achieve and more. Lots of love, lots of laughter, lots of food and drinks, and lots of dancing.

Merryn & Tom wed on site at at the local school St Josephs, and also had their gorgeous son Ned baptised at the same time - what a way to celebrate while all the family is in town! We then spent some time gallivanting around the Foundations site for bridal portraits. The venue has an incredible amount of different options for photos, however we chose to stick fairly close to guests, and utilised the silo area and out the front of and inside their reception space, The Powerhouse.

Merryn arrived back to the reception in style - atop a gorgeous vintage Landcruiser driven by the groom much to the huge enjoyment of the guests! They proceeded to hold their canapé hour with the first section of speeches thrown in there too, so that guests could enjoy the barmy sunlit evening until it was time for the main meal. The mains were served inside the Powerhouse, where guests enjoyed an amazing sit down meal served up by Catering by Margot Burke, followed by entertainment by Live band Gabe Music where they partied the night away .

We highly recommend couples looking to get hitched in the Greater Blue Mountains area and the Central West stop in to Portland and check out everything that this incredible venue and town have to offer.. and whilst you’re there, stop in at The Grove and grab a coffee and a treat and have a chat to owner Merryn about her amazing wedding day!

Elope with us in the Blue Mountains!

Elope in the Blue Mountains

We absolutely LOVE where we live, hence our name! Along with our photography and videography services, we are now offering Small Elopement packages!

We are focusing on the Blue Mountains area only. We figure, do one thing and do it very well.

Within the Blue Mountains region there are so many beautiful secluded spots to elope in, with such a varying looks and feels to them, and as Blackheath locals with a lot of knowledge of the area, we can bring your elopement dreams to life. Vineyard vibes, country paddocks with a view, or atop one of the many many epic clifftop locations that make the Blue Mountains what they are and the reason many people choose to spend their time here, we can offer them all.

We can sort out your entire day whether thats just the two of you, or a micro wedding party up to 20.

We will meet with you or chat via Zoom, and then based on all that you have to say about your day, we can recommend the services of local only wedding vendors that will suit your style and budget. We know and work alongside of wedding vendors that we both respect and admire and have very close working relationships with and who we fully trust to deliver the goods, all located within the mountains area. This is really important as the lack of travel fees and accommodation for out of town vendors is dramatically reduced, as well as supporting a community that 2020 has hit hard on multiple fronts. We have the best of the business located here, from Celebrants to Florists, Catering, Music and Hotel or Airbnb accommodation. We can guide you along with many options to suit your taste.

We can do all the planning for you, so that you just ‘show up’, OR we can coordinate with all vendors, check availability and budget requirements with them, and then put you in contact from that stage for you to discuss the finer details. Whatever kind of experience you are after, we’re happy to provide the framework!

Covid-19 has hit us all. Both couples looking to get married, and those within the Wedding industry, and we are really looking forward to making some more small elopement dreams come true and capturing the love between couples on their day so that they have the memories to look back on for a lifetime, or to show to their guests at a later reception party date.

Get in touch. Lets do this!

Blue Mountains Family Session with Perry, Teighan and Baby Austin

After filming Perry & Teighans’ stunning Hunter Valley wedding last April, and shooting their maternity session during the bushfires on one of the hottest days of Summer 2020, it seemed only fitting to get these guys in during the Pandemic for a (socially distanced) family session with their gorgeous new addition in tow!

These guys are such a great couple, and it was so bloody beautiful to see them in their new roles as parents, and to capture their little bug and the love they all have for each other. What a gorgeous little family you guys are. Thanks for a great mini catch up!

Check out some of the images from our sun drenched half-hour spent with the Browne’s in Wentworth Falls, and get in touch if you’d like some for your family too!

Mudgee Vow Renewal - Helen and Ian

Helen & Ian’s Mudgee Vow Renewal

Mudgee locals Helen & Ian have been married for a gobsmacking 49 years! They wonderfully agreed to be a part of a styled vow renewal shoot for the brilliant publication Marry Me Mudgee, held in the stunning grounds of Mudgee Homestead and Guesthouse.

We were thrilled to Photograph and Film this wonderful celebration, and are so happy to have been able to capture it all for the gorgeous couple, and showcase some amazing vendors in a town that is so dear to us. Mudgee you are so beautiful, rain hail or shine, and you gave it to us all that afternoon!

The Horse float turned bar “The Tipsy Mare” was such an bloody awesome addition to the shoot - definitely something we hadn’t seen before, and the two different Vintage dresses from The Vintage Aisle in Orange were so different and both beautiful on Helen. We’ve admired Shiralee Archer’s stunning floral work from afar for a long time now, and so was a pleasure meeting her along with the whole Mudgee gang at Marry Me Mudgee! Hayley you are doing such fabulous things for this whole region and we’re so pleased to advertise and feature in your mag!
